Capricornus is one of the constellations of the zodiac; it is often called Capricorn, especially when referring to the corresponding astrological sign. Its name is Latin for “horned male goat” or “goat horn“, and it is commonly represented in the form of a sea-goat: a mythical creature that is half goat, half shark. Its symbol is Capricorn symbol 2.png

Capricornus is one of the 88 modern constellations, and was also one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd century astronomer Ptolemy. Under its modern boundaries it is bordered by Aquila, Sagittarius, Microscopium, Piscis Austrinus and Aquarius. The constellation is located in an area of sky called the Sea or Water, consisting of many water-related constellations such as Aquarius, Pisces and Eridanus.

Capricornus is the second faintest constellation in the zodiac after Cancer.

Esoteric & Energetic meaning of Capricorn “The Light of Initiation”

The Ram, the Scapegoat and the sacred Goat. The Ram fertilizes, the Scapegoat, in the wilderness, redeems that all, the Sacred Goat merges in the Unicorn – profound and mysterious. (Taken from an Ancient text, quoted pg 155-6 of AABailey’s Esoteric Astrology)

In terms of our personal evolution, this energy is linked to the collective purpose of The Plan. Sure-footedness, emotional balance and the ability to function wisely in the physical world is now tested. It is time to take responsibility for the benefit of all. It is time to break free from our attachment to material forms  of life and be free to co-create new forms to serve humanity. It’s time to start a new cycle of Higher aspirations with motivation, high ambition and strong determination for success. Work instinctively – trusting intuition and imagination (Higher Mind).
